This is so simple, and yet so great! Who knew that a shrug could be so simple?? THanks for posting this! :)
ReplyDeleteI know right?! I was experimenting with a piece of fabric and realized how easy it could be.
DeleteThankyou for posting this pattern. I used hot pink/rose parfait bulky. It took me 5 mins. for each row,(once I got used to the pattern), 34 rows, a little over 2 hrs. it turned out beautiful!!! My friends daughter is going to love this!!! I'm ready to make more, it was so quick& easy!! thank you again!
DeleteI love this pattern, so simple, yet very elegant. Sharing patterns like this is a pleasure for me. Thank you so much for sharing your shrug pattern.
ReplyDeleteis this done cross or up and down?
ReplyDeleteside to side. Across.
DeleteSo pretty and very easy to make! any suggestions for making a toddler/child size?
ReplyDeleteSmaller lol...start with half the size of an adult size and adjust accordingly depending on the size of the child
DeleteHi there
ReplyDeleteSo I got ten rows in and tried to stretch the ends to my armpits around the back of my neck. Way small despite my gauge being correct....hmmm. Will try this on my toddler tomorrow. Maybe I can salvage for her!
Read the pattern carefully, make the piece measure at least 17", depending on your size. You are crocheting from one armhole to the other, across.
DeleteThanks for the free pattern! Hoping to make one for myself soon. I usually end up attaching these things wrong, we'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting your shrug this very moment in an acrylic/wool blend which results in a mohair-type yarn...in RED!! It's a washable blend too. I've been looking for a purrfect shrug for hours (=
ReplyDeleteMade this, using the body pattern for short sleeves about 6 inches long. Easy to modify. Makes possibilities endless. Thanks for the pattern. Genius!
ReplyDeletecould someone please help me, I'm new to crocheting and all I have made up o now is blankets and scalves. I don't understand how row 2 works. it says chain 5 whch is 1 double crochet but where do I place it? in the first stitch? or do I chain 7 and completely miss the first square?

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty new to crocheting could you please explain row 2 a bit more for me I don't understand do I chain 7 and go straight into the ch2 space , or do I place the chain 5 somewhere? I'm really confused as to how to progress on that line thank you for reading :)
ReplyDeleteI actually messed the part that said ch2 and only chained five, turned my work and skipped over the first 3 dc' s and then put my first dc of the new row. Everything still measured out correctly.
DeleteMy wife is needing a white scrug to wear with a new sleeveless white Lacey dress she bought. This is perfect for me to make for her. Yes I am a man and my grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 8 years old and I have crocheted all my life.. 57 now. Thanks for the pattern
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! Kudos to your grandmother! I've been crocheting since I was six years old. It's very relaxing and a great to do in front of TV!
